So what happens when you’re injured, and how can we do the right kinds of speed workouts with the correct amount of recovery? Thanks for the good info. I’m ramping up my half-marathon training and can’t agree more with adding in cycling as a cross training method. A day off from the impact nature of running while still strengthening leg muscles and conditioning cardio is a very good thing.
To Kathy’s comment about the leg pounding on hill descents – I prefer a controlled, rhythmic descent to avoid injury, but that’s probably because I’m getting older and can’t beat myself up like I did in college.
